Attiki bar and grill

Marketing Coordinator

AUGUST 2012 - AUGUST 2013

Attiki was one of my first jobs out college and it quickly became my home. This was an all-hands-on-deck environment, and besides pricing items for profitability, organizing cuisine photo shoots (and eating the product after), and creating specials and events to increase revenue — I also learned how to make a mean hummus and authentic Lebanese tea. My supervisor, Diana, was amazing! She taught me all about the Lebanese culture and made sure I never went hungry (I’m serious).

One of the greatest lessons I learned at Attiki was when a waitresses called out sick and management couldn’t find somebody to cover her shift. Since I was already there, I hopped in and learned so much about the product and customer needs! After fully understanding what customers desired, I pitched a campaign called “Henna Happy Hour” to Diana. I thought that every Tuesday (a slow day) drinks and appetizers should be half off and we should offer patrons a complimentary henna design. Diana loved it, and the happy hour was so successful that the restaurant still has it every Tuesday!

The lesson that I learned was invaluable, and for every job that I have had since, I physically go to the locations (mainly customer service) to truly learn the inner workings of the company. In turn, this helps me create better marketing campaigns.
